Libations & OfferingsOfferings are usually presented to the Goddess in a separate offering bowl, and usually what every is offered is kept separate in little piles in the offering dish. Offerings can be any kind of regular natural food that you would normally eat, including small quantities of cereal (bout 2-4 TBSP), or raisins, nuts, grains., and a small bowl of cup of wine. These offerings are usually left on the Alter 24 hours (or a bit longer, or overnight, or for a matter of hours) and than are disposed of. (best deposal is to eat it yourself or give the offering to an animal which will eat is, so that there is no waste). In the ancient Egyptian Temples, after the offering was presented to the Goddess for a time, the offering food was then removed and eaten by the priests and/or fed to the Sacred Animals of the Temple. Offering may be made at anytime, but especially regularly at Fests and Celebrations. If you can take or make the time, daily offerings in the morning are best as was done in ancient Egypt but the Temple Priests. Libations are for the most part offerings that are done during ritual, and traditionally are bread & beer or bread & wine. The bread was most times a sweet bread like cake or rolls. When offered as a libation, a bit of the liquid (wine, beer, or flavored milk) is always offered first (poured into the libation bowl, asking the Goddess to join in and partake) and the rest is consumed by those present, and then a bit of the bread cake is offered second (broken off and dropped into the wine in the libation bowl, asking the Goddess to join in and partake) and the rest is consumed by those present. Before the consuming and libations, of course the bread and wine are separate in their own containers (bread dish & wine chalice) and are properly blessed by the ritual. Very appropriate for the Moon ritual celebrations are home-baked cakes cut in the shape of a moon. You may bless the bread and wine and share libations with the goddess as often and when ever you choose, but specially as indicated in the ritual for Festivals and celebrations that you will be receiving.
